Wow! Almost forgot to do this. I've been so darned good with the diet, that one day just blends into another. That and I'm trying not to think too much about work yesterday. It just nibbles around the edges.
Very stressful day yesterday. I had 12 patients booked into the afternoon, none of which were physicals, and all of which were my regulars. I don't think I ran over an hour behind, but it was close. I find, as much as I am inured to running late, I really hate it. It wears on me like water on a stone, just constant mild stress. The problem is, if I were to just see 4 patients a day, I would probably end up still behind for some reason or other. I'm just not sure what the happy medium is.
I think it is of benefit to read the chart and pre-load the visit, check out the last visit, etc, before going in the room to see the patient. I think it's of benefit to have the reasons for the visit enumerated by the support staff when they send me the chart. I think it will also help if I make a list of what I would like the staff to do so they can get used to doing it. That way it will be written down. I'd like to include disrobing advice, because it's a pain in my ass to have to get the patient to disrobe further while I'm seeing them.
Ah, the beauty of this blog, that I can express myself freely without worrying about the sensibilities of my readers, since I don't actually have any!
I got over-hungry yesterday, which is never a good thing. I was able to overcome it as an issue, though, by having a bit of club soda and lime before eating, and then by forcing myself to go slow. I did try stilton cheese on the burger I ate, but didn't like the flavor. I think I'll try a good swiss next, and consider a sharp cheddar. I think it needs a stronger cheese than monterey jack, but apparently not a blue cheese.
I also went to the store and bought blue cheese dressing, which I have found is really great on broiled cod (weird, huh?). It has 0 carbs and will be an excellent back-up for if I lose my taste for bacon dressing, or can't find it sometime.
So here are the totals:
Food: 2 eggs fried in butter; large salad with lettuce, sliced chicken, flavored feta cheese, and bacon dressing; 2 string cheese (learning to love the Polly-O because of the way they mush up in my mouth and remind me of cheesecake); 1 Wolf's Neck hamburger with some stilton cheese and sugar free ketchup.
Drink: 1 silk road tea with 3 splenda and heavy cream; 1 pomegranate acai green tea; 1/2 cranberry pomegranate green tea; 2 glasses of water; 1 club soda with lime juice; 1 hot water with lemon. (I drank too little yesterday because it was so hectic. I barely had time to scarf the string cheeses and probably took less time with them than I should have)
Exercise: Barely made 3000 steps for the day, despite some shopping. But I did do Bowflex Part 2.
Hopefully better today.
