Had a relaxing time flying down to Florida, though it was a bit of a dash getting out of the house. I got up at 4:05 am and showered, moved a bit of laundry, had some tea, and took off. I was very pleased with my ability to find very low carb stuff to eat on the flights. Quiznos was accommodating in producing the breakfast sub without the bread, and I got some nice sausages in Orlando, which I was able to enjoy with mustard while watching planes line up to take off.
While on the plane I spent some time reading "French Women Don't Get Fat." It's interesting how many of her tips are things I've just started doing this time trying to lose weight. For instance, eat slowly and savor what you're eating. She didn't mention the science behind this, so I discounted her explanations as to why it might work. For the most part. She also discussed the issue of pleasure and that resonated. I know from my reading of Martin Seligman that pleasures lose their punch if over-indulged in, and she mentioned this as well when it comes to food.
She also talked about moving during the day, which I have come to believe is more and more important.
Food: about 2 eggs, bacon and cheddar from Quiznos; 2 large smoked sausages; dinner of small salad with romaine and Italian dressing, 2 slices tomato with Miracle Whip, and about 6 ounces marinated salmon.
Drink: 25 ounces water; 3 other glasses water; 1 silk road tea with 3 splenda and heavy cream; 1 venti berrilicious white tea plain; 1 shot espresso; 1 mandarin orange herbal tea; 1 cup hot water with lemon.
Exercise: walked just over 11,000 steps; did Shiho Kusokan 3 times.
