It was a bit easier following the diet earlier in the week. I'm not sure where I went wrong. Somewhere around Wednesday, I started getting hungry in the middle of the day. It got worse on Thursday, when I forgot my lunch at home. I was so looking forward to it! Instead I had to eat garlic cheddar cheese. It seemed ok when I was eating it, but then I got ravenous during the afternoon. First I ate a half ounce of almonds. Then I was still hungry. I had a cup of Miso soup (tofu). Then I got hungry again. Finally, I had an Atkin's caramel bar. I was finally less hungry, but pissed because I had more fake sugar. For supper, I had broccoli and Bangkok Padang sauce, along with leftover shrimp and a chicken/apple sausage.
Today I had the usual salad, except the bag of lettuce seemed awfully light on lettuce. I got hungry mid-afternoon again and once again had 1/2 ounce almonds. So I had poor man's almonds when I got home, another 1/2 ounce. Finally, we went out to eat. I was pretty puny by then, because Doug insisted on shopping before we ate. We did Thai and I had tom yum seafood, followed by half the gai kra pow I ordered. I am not really hungry right now, but I didn't get really full either.
I've also been doing a lot of reading lately. Sadly, most of it has been late at night when I should be sleeping. Of course, inadequate sleep increases appetite inappropriately, sot that may not be helping. It also makes it harder for me to exercise. I just get tired.
Again, the exercise has been difficult. Trying to fit it in is an issue, and it's hard to be active when I'm working and sitting down almost all the time. I've started doing bowflex at night, though it's harder to drive myself to do it then. On the other hand, it's better than just flopping on the couch.
Here's my prime times for sitting still and doing nothing:
1. Work, especially Tuesday morning and Friday afternoon, when I generally sit and commune with my computer.
2. Television time at night when Doug insists on sitting and watching television like a slug.
3. Times when I just sit around and read.
4. When I come home and do the rest of my paperwork.
Work doesn't have a lot of exercise, though at least it's not just sitting around.
So here's my next steps for tomorrow:
1. Go back to the 2 eggs for breakfast (ditch the yogurt for now).
2. Lunch will be broccoli salad and the rest of the Gai krapow. Or maybe just the Gai krapow.
3. Back to some form of cheese or salami for snack and leave the nuts alone for now.
I should also go to bed soon so I'll be rested tomorrow. And I know Doug wants sex, since it's been over 48 hours and he's getting pretty rancid. All that yammering about sex is just irritating and makes me want to never have it again.
I also want to run tomorrow morning, so I'm going to try to get on the treadmill when Doug leaves for work.
