So, today was the first day back from vacation/education at Big Sky. I'm going to write about the eating I did there after posting today's totals.
Food: 2 eggs fried in butter; 1/4 pound all beef hot dog with mustard; 1 chicken breast sauteed in olive oil, garlic, spices and parmesan cheese; large Ceasar salad.
Drink: 1 silk road tea with 3 Splenda and heavy cream; 3 water; 1 soda water with lime; 1 small coffee. I will probably have some tea before bed.
Exercise: Sadly, none.
So, I was unable to stick to the really low carb eating plan at the ski area. The food was brutally expensive and the provided continental breakfast was mostly carbohydrate. The other meals were also expensive, and generally included at least vegetables. So, for breakfast I generally had a couple of eggs and bacon. On Thursday, I had a veggie skillet, which had a bunch of veggies, 2 eggs and cheese. I almost had one with potatoes, but I noticed them putting those in and Doug took that one very kindly for me. I also had bought a very thick yogurt and had some of that for breakfast a couple of mornings.
Lunch and dinner were generally salad with some sort of meat on it. Dressings were often vinegrette. I did have some bigger meals at the end of the trip in the evening. Once was red deer and the other was elk. There was a marsala sauce involved with the elk, which I fear had some flour in it.
On the whole, I stuck to a low carb diet, even if it wasn't the really low carb one I've been doing so well with. My clothes are still fitting fairly well, so I'm hoping I haven't gained any weight back, or at least limited weight.
Exercise consisted primarily of skiing. We did that for 5 days out of the seven or so we were there. On one of the other days we traveled to Yellowstone Park on a snowmobile. Not sure how much exercise is involved in that activity. Walking was usually somewhere around 5000 steps per day, since we didn't have a car with us and had to rely on public transportation and our feet.
We acclimated pretty well to the altitude also. We were above 7000 feet for the most part, but I supplied plenty of meds to tide us over, so it went well.
